Erasmus Plus is the European Union Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sports 2014-2020. The integrated program not only gives you an overview of available grants but also aims at facilitating access and promoting synergies between different sectors by removing the barriers between the various types of projects. Furthermore, the program wants to attract new people from the job market and the public domain in general, in order to encourage new forms of cooperation. Erasmus+ stems from a particular socio-economic context. In fact, on one hand there are nearly 6 million unemployed young Europeans (with unemployment rate reaching 50% in some countries); on the other hand over 2 million job vacancies and a third of employers encounter difficulties in recruiting staff with the required qualifications. This demonstrates the existence of an important skills gap in the European job market.
Erasmus+ is designed to give concrete answers to these problems, by creating opportunities for study, training, work experience or volunteer activities abroad. The quality and adequacy of all organizations and European educational institutions, which operate in the training and assistance to youth, can be enhanced by means of: improvement of teaching and learning methods; new programs and professional development of teachers and youth leaders; enhanced links between education, training and the job market. This will address the real needs in terms of developing human and social resources , in Europe and elsewhere.
SERVICES FOR INTERNSHIP ABROAD
WELCOME AND TUTORING
We greet all participants with a Welcome Meeting at which we provide a welcome kit, guaranteeing maximum personal and professional support thanks to our specialist staff.
INTERNSHIP ORGANIZATION
Ex.Act Malta provides each beneficiary with work placements according to their previous professional experience and language skills. We organise professional visits and seminars for teachers, trainers and people employed in the training environment. The whole experience is assessed by means of specially devised modules, such as: Participant Handbook, Company Handbook and Skills Portfolio. We also provide Europass Mobility Certification and Final Reporting concerning the whole experience.
LANGUAGE COURSES
Language courses are taught by native speaking teachers specialized in teaching English as a foreign language. Particular attention, however, is given to conversation, to develop an increasing capacity to express oneself and communicate in English from the beginning of the course.
ACCOMMODATION
Participants are usually accommodated in fully equipped and comfortable flats shared with other beneficiaries. Participants may also be accommodated in hotels or with families.
MAINTENANCE/POCKET MONEY
Participants will receive Pocket Money, usually once a week, to cover food costs. Participants staying in hotels and families are provided with full board accommodation (3 meals / day).
TRANSFER TO/FROM AIRPORT
Ex.Act Malta organizes the transfer by private bus or taxi at the participants' arrival and departure.
LOCAL TRANSPORT
Ex.Act Malta provides a weekly or a monthly transport pass for participants who need to reach their internship placement.
CULTURAL ACTIVIVITIES
We organize different guided tours of Malta's most beautiful locations.
CERTIFICATES AND ECVET DOCUMENTATION
At the end of each participant's stay in Malta, Ex.Act Malta issues an internship certificate and a language course certificate. If the project requires us to follow the ECVET procedure, we provide all documentation requested for the assessment and Europass Mobility Certificate.
EUROPASS
Ex.Act Malta cooperates actively with the sending organization in all procedures for issuing the Europass Certificate.
FINAL REPORT
At the end of the programme, we prepare a final report containing information about the project (work placement companies, professional visits, evaluations, pictures, etc…) for the sending organisation.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE
We are always investing in opportunities for our students to interact and enjoy themselves whilst in Malta. After all, one rarely gets the opportunity to go on an internship abroad.
We have several activities such as guided tours, scuba diving, horse riding, treasure hunts, day visits to Popeye Village Themed Park, Blue Lagoon tours, Gozo tours, and much more. Further information on tours can also be provided during your orientation meeting in Malta after your arrival.
We also offer further additional courses to extend your knowledge and skills such as the English language course, Maltese language course, IT related courses and more. Such courses can already be booked prior to arrival with the benefit of an early bird discount or you can check out the latest offers during the orientation meeting once in Malta.
